Local Index and Radius Filter Launch in Adwire
We've made a lot of changes to the Adwire Widget builder in terms of features and content, but the really big news is that this implementation is using data gathered from our Local Index Database. The Adwire widget builder was previously limited to showing news content (text headlines and video). Now Adwire is equipped with 6 different types of geo located info including: News, Events, Photos, Reviews, Status Updates, and Weather. Publishers will now have the ability to build a widget that displays a combination of this local data in a consolidated widget feed, or they can build out multiple widgets with dedicated feeds.
The second major feature that we have added to the builder is a Radius Filter. When you select location in the 'Filter By' option a map shows up with a pin in your default location. There are three option that follow: 1. search for a location (e.g. 'Menlo Park') and the pin will relocate to Menlo Parks position on the map 2. you can drag the pin to the point on the map where you want the news to come from 3. select the radius around your desired location. In the picture I searched for 'Menlo Park' and set my radius to 5 miles so I got News [and 5 other types of local data] that had been geo located in Menlo Park.
This is a huge improvement in versatility for publishers. Go and try it out at http://adwire.fwix.com
Also there are some great implementations of these in the works. Screenshots will be posted once they are finished.
